Waterside Miners Charitable Society
REGISTERED SCOTTISH CHARITY NUMBER SC003983
We will build a new state-of-the-art community hub in Waterside, run by the community for the community
A survey at the start of 2023 showed how much residents of Waterside, Woodilee, Braes of Yetts, Fauldhead, Duntiblae and area need and want a sustainable, versatile community space.
CD Architects have carried out a feasibility study (paid for by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust), and preliminary building options for the site of the former Waterside Miners Club are pictured on this page.
The current proposals are for a building with flexible spaces and a cafe. The design allows additional rooms to be built on later if needed. Outside, there would be gardens and a play area.
While these plans are at an early stage, they give an indication of what might be achievable.
